Fourier Systems Launches Next Generation of Nova5000
New Features Enhance Complete Learning Solution,
Now Offered in Lower-Cost Package
NEW ALBANY, IND. (May 7, 2008) - Fourier Systems, Ltd., a global provider of science and one-to-one computing solutions for the education market, has added new features to the Nova5000, providing educators and students with the tools they need to master and learn the skills necessary to thrive in the 21st Century.
Helping educators, technology coordinators and students to teach, facilitate and learn at their own pace, the Nova5000 now features a faster processor (624 MHz). In addition, the company has doubled the device’s amount of internal memory by including 128 MB of RAM, allowing for a greater number of files and software to be utilized. Fourier Systems also increased the amount of Flash memory storage space by 100 percent to 256 MB. The increased RAM and memory storage space, coupled with a faster processor, provides users with an authentic computing and learning experience, offering quicker access to files and faster browsing.
Encouraging students and educators to utilize streaming video and multimedia tools in conjunction with curriculum-based activities, especially for science and math experiments, the Nova5000 now features a 2D Graphic accelerator for improved graphics. This accelerator enhances multimedia and video playback capabilities for in-class, lab or fieldwork.
In addition, Fourier Systems has added an additional SD card slot, providing another means to transfer files to or from the Nova5000. For example this feature is an ideal tool for transferring images from digital cameras or multimedia files from other computing devices or handhelds.
Furthermore, by drastically improving the power management of the Nova5000 device the battery life has been extended by 20 percent, allowing educators and students to utilize the Nova5000 throughout the day and after school without losing power.
Now weighing only 2.4 lbs and with enhanced features, Fourier Systems has lowered the device’s total cost-of-ownership by reducing the price for schools, districts and other educational organizations. The Nova5000 is now available for under $500 – EX, SX and BX versions cost $499, $439 and $399 respectively.
